Swami Vivekanand Memorial School of Studies in Comparative Religion , Philosophy and Yoga

Year of Establishment : 1985

(1)  This school of studies was established in 1985 by then Hon'ble Chief Minister of M.P. Mr. Arjun Singh as Department of Comparative Religion and Philosophy with a motive establish communal harmony and enrich human values in the society. In the course of scientific and technological development in Indian society human values, especially religious and moral values have declined a lot. It is often realized that there is value crisis in the society. The impact of materialistic growth and related science has thrown away Philosophy to a limited community of intellectuals. Such intellectual society has failed to bring positive change in this society as required. This is possible only by encouraging such institutions having potential to play role model in the society.

(2)  In the year 1998 itself this Department realized the need of applied philosophy for the social reform and as a result initiated the courses on Yoga through a project in 2001. Consequently in the year 2006 the school is renamed as Philosophy and Yoga. Again, the name of the school got renamed as Swami Vivekanand Memorial SoS in Comparative Religion, Philosophy & Yoga in the year 2010. CBCS Program Runing From 2015 Are M.A. II - Second Semester And Third Semester.
