Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University (here after referred to as PRSU) is Chhattisgarh's largest and oldest institution of higher education, established in 1964 with ‘A’ re-accreditation by NAAC. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of MHRD has ranked it among the top 150 universities in the country, and first in the state. The University has a sprawling campus spread in 207 acres of land in the western part of the capital of Chhattisgarh, Raipur. There are 29 teaching departments in the University. One of the departments of the university; University Institute of Pharmacy has been ranked as 49 under NIRF ranking among thousands of institutes nationwide. University has established rich experience in promoting technological innovation and actively pursues collaboration with industries, PSUs, various Sector Skill Councils and has established inter-institutional collaborations both nationally and globally.

Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University is deeply embedded in the local community of Chhattisgarh state and central India. It is hub for sharing knowledge, inspiring collaboration and enriching lives. The various departments have been offering high-quality courses and rewarding experiences for over more than six decades. The university has inculcated the culture of collective and participative administration to provide the platform, where the intellect and practical exposure would be recognized and utilized for the commercial application of the research. The PRSU is having an ambience for hassle free teaching and learning environment where there is a freedom of ideas and concepts which can bring forth novel technological solutions for the common man of the society. The teachers are actively involved in the research and are having research project funded by various international, national and state agencies. The departments and centre for studies have active collaboration with the industries and society, and regularly organize professional activities on regular basis.

National Innovation and Start-up Policy-2019 (NISP) for faculties and students of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) is initiated by MHRD’s (Now, Ministry of Education) Innovation Cell (MIC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University has embraced the NISP to encourage faculty and students towards Innovation and Entrepreneurship related activities.

The policy aims at enabling to figure-out, rationalize and strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem in the campus. It will be instrumental in leveraging the potential of science students, creative problem solving and entrepreneurial mind-set, and promoting strong intra- and inter-institutional partnerships. The ecosystem caters the needs of different stakeholders at regional, national and international level. Faculty members of the departments are continuously engaged in the generation and distribution of information to launch business ideas to influence society and solve problems in the real world. In many cutting-edge science and technology fields, a significant number of R&D activities are being carried out by faculty members and students. Most of these research findings have potential to translate into consumer goods, benefiting society in general. The entrepreneurial ecosystem in PRSU will play a key role in identifying, mentoring, nurturing the innovative and entrepreneurial potential of students, faculties and staff and transforming them into start-up entrepreneurs by providing avenues of funding, investment opportunities and networking support to make the innovation and venture successful. It helps in promoting national economic and social growth.

Vision

Promote start-up culture, and encourage the concept of entrepreneurship among students and faculties to create global professionals, and propel our country to emerge as a robust economy.

Mission

  • To establish self-motivated and energetic start-up atmosphere encouraging innovation among aspiring entrepreneurs.
  • To encourage students and the faculties on novel ideation to convert them into successful enterprises by routine initiatives like Boot-up camps, competitions and workshops on capacity building.
  • Develop conducive environment encouraging innovation among aspiring entrepreneurs.
  • To create state-of-the-art infrastructure for inception, invention, alliance, business influences and knowledge exchange.
  • To facilitate the institute in terms of Intellectual Property (IP) ownership management, technology licensing and equity sharing.

Objective

  • To facilitate and promote entrepreneurship culture and innovation development among the teachers and students of university including alumni.
  • To provide entrepreneurship acquaintance and skill development.
  • To provide support facilities for start-up services and networking with regional and national start-up support agencies.
  • To promote inter-institutional associations, industry support, corporate and private partnership linkages.
  • To adopt suitable strategies for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship with commercialization.
